From the recording October (single)
After a 5 year break from writing music, and almost giving it up completely, Holly was inspired to start writing again after watching one of her favorite musical inspirations, Noah Gundersen, perform live in her city. After the performance, she went home and began writing again. The first song to come was October, a style completely different from everything she had written up until then. After completing the song, she was approached by the Crowdcare Foundation, giving her the opportunity to submit her song into a contest, as a donation to the compilation album, Songs For Life, to raise money for cancer research, and to also help and uplift cancer patients all around the globe with uplifting music. Holly entered her song into the contest for the chance to be on the album, which was judged by The Piano Guys, American Idol's Kenz Hall, and other top performers from Utah. Her song was chosen by the judges and is now a part of the compilation album on iTunes. October is the song that began her professional career in music.
